This section of the website has ideas for ways to
stop them from being bored when at home.
We hope to continually and extensively
build upon and regularly add new ideas to this section. Parents are invited to use the feedback form on the
Contact us page to share your ideas with us.
The links on the left provide inexpensive activity
ideas to engage their interests around the home.
When they're not enrolled in the latest Council
holiday activity, their room will most likely hold
their interests but they'll also want to take part
in other activities going on around the house.

Children's rooms fulfil so many different functions.
They sleep and dress there, work and study, read,
draw, play, entertain and escape mum when she's
cross. And often children have to do all of this in
the smallest room of the house (because mum & dad
got the big one).
Children should feel that their room is their haven.
It does not have to be professionally designed and
decorated, but should reflect the child's
personality - whether a collector, artist, reader or
inventor. It needs to be adaptable and grow with
them as the soft toys and colouring in books make
room for CD players and student
